The Two Paths

Man, did I choose the wrong path....and you'll notice that there's no connecting line to get back on the right one, after bad literature that's it -yer on a straight road to outcast-dom. Though, to be fair, you do pass fast life and dissipation on the way...ace.

Étapes magazine

If you've been lying awake at night agonising over the empty feeling in your heart....then lose sleep no more..... étapes is the quarterly graphic design magazine you've been waiting for your whole life. It comes in French, English and Spanish versions and costs around €20 and it's better than everyone at everything.

Lettering por el mano

I've got it bad for hand lettering at the moment since I saw a really good article in étapes magazine. My Googling brought me to Marian Bantjes, who's hand lettering is so awesome my heart skipped a beat... God bless her.

And then I found Nate Williams.... ....

And finally for tonight: Alison Carmichael...

The Ambience Affair

The Live at Odessa gigs are coming fast 'n' furious with loads of good bands lined up including the Mighty Stef and Alphastates. I'm particularly looking forward to the next Donal Dineen gig which is lined up for April 19th (I think...)
Anyways, last night was the turn of the Ambience Affair. New enough in the getting together, they come equipped with drums, guitars and some pedals of sorts and a nice friendly demeanour. Anyways the snippets I caught were most impressive sort of along the lines of Chequerboard (who I love) . Unfortunately, the turn out was meagre but those visionaries who attended left satisfied. I wholeheartedly suggest you catch their next Dublin gig in Whelan's on the 8th May. They're only massive....
